Case Studies
Behind every project is a story—why it was made, who it was for, and the impact it had. These case studies offer a deeper look into the intention and creative process behind my work.
Case Study: Mess Arts – A Home for Creativity and Community
The Story
Meet Ness Kent (they/them), an artist and educator who turned a backyard art camp into a haven for New Orleans youth. As a RISD graduate and founder of Mess Arts, Ness created more than just an art studio in the 7th Ward—they built a movement. Mess Arts is where young leaders emerge, art breaks down barriers, and creativity knows no price tag.
Why I Made This Video
I approached Mess Arts about creating a video to help boost enrollment, establish a strong brand identity, and serve as a key tool for fundraising efforts. My goal was to capture the heart of what makes Mess Arts special—its commitment to accessibility, mentorship, and the transformative power of creative expression.
The Impact
Through this video, we showcased the soul of Mess Arts: the passionate educators, the engaged students, and the welcoming space that fosters artistic exploration. The final piece is a compelling introduction to the organization, helping it attract new students, secure funding, and amplify its mission to make art accessible to every child who dreams of creating.

The district wanted to highlight its incredible programs, particularly the Equity Fellows initiative. This video was designed to tell the story of educators committed to self-reflection and transformation, showcasing how District 13 holistically supports its students, teachers, and families.
The Impact
This video is a powerful call to action for educators, community members, and stakeholders invested in creating a more equitable education system. By capturing the voices of Equity Fellows, we illustrated the profound personal and professional growth that comes from the experience. The final piece was used to promote the program, inspire future fellows, and reinforce District 13’s commitment to meaningful change.
